I was a recruiter at Google. I sat on the other side of the application, where hiring decisions actually get made.
What I saw is that a job description is only part of the story. Good people get passed over because they sound like everyone else, not because they aren't qualified.
Being qualified was never the problem. Being under-positioned is.
So I started teaching people how the hiring game really works, on YouTube and one on one. I show them what hiring managers want and how to show it.
